The University is open this morning--roads are a little snowy, but have been plowed and the plows continue to run. Snow removal is vigorously underway on campus. The schedule will continue as planned. Announcements are posted on our Facebook page, and in the lobby and by the registration desk in Cogswell Hall.
PARKING
Parking is availble in the parking deck behind Cogswell Hall. There is a fee for parking in the deck on Friday; weekend parking is free. To park, simply enter the garage from either the Papermill Avenue or Grant Street entrances. Visitor parking ia available on the 3rd and 4th levels in designated slots. The pay machine is located by the bridge to campus on the third level. Reserved parking is enforced until 5 pm on Friday; it is free to park in the garage after that time.
Where should I eat?
Check There are several food options in close walking distance of campus; some conference discounts will be available at a few of these establishments. Check your program booklet for coupons and other offers.
On campus options:
The Crimson Cafe
Located directly across from Cogswell Hall, the Crimson Cafe offers a several options for food including a sandwich line with made to order sandwiches, soups, salads, noodle bowls and other offerings, an Italian food line with pastas and pizzas, a Grill with hamburgers and other hot sandwiches, and a full Starbucks.
Foster Dining Hall
Accessible via a short walk from Cogswell (roughly one block away), Foster DIning Hall is a buffet style cafeteria with a wide variety of options.
Off Campus Options
Romeo's
Just across 11th Street from Cogswell, Romeo's is an Italian and Mediterranean restaurant with an oversized (literally) menu. Many different types of foods are available and the prices are reasonable.
Taco Bell and Subway are both within a short walk of Cogswell (five minutes or less).
A slightly longer walk to Philadelphia Street (roughly 10-15 minutes) will provide numerous food options, both chain (Jimmy John's and Pita Pit, amongst others) and independently owned establishments, including full service restaurants and more fast-food style places.
